Recorded at our Hammersmith Apollo show on October 4th, we’re massively proud to put ‘Apollo’ into the world. Mixed by our pal and sound engineer Snake Newton, you can hear the jubilation in the room. Containing all the songs you’d expect plus a few rarer gems this album is an honest, vital and true representation of one of the best nights of our collective lives.
We entered this venture drinking a contradictory cocktail of trepidation and teenage cockiness. From meeting for the first time in a decade and a half in a London hotel, our collective forecast for how this would go swung wildly. A pendulum; on one end of the arc lay disaster, a brutal reminder that our time was gone – a fast disintegrating memory of minor glories past. At the other tip of the parabolla, we glimpsed a full hall, a choir of joyous exaltation to the songs we know longer own. Those songs that have stubbornly refused to leave our hearts. So join us in raising a glass to teenage cockiness.
